Founding Sponsor Podhurst Orseck to Participate at Ninth Annual Class Action & Complex Litigation Forum

Posted on December 19, 2024

CORAL GABLES, FL (December 18, 2024) – Class action lawsuits have sparked heated debates for decades, with both sides fiercely defending their viewpoints on this intricate legal process. Recent changes, however, have introduced fresh challenges and opportunities. Shifts in the legal environment and technological innovations are reshaping how cases are handled, prompting a closer examination of the current state of class action law. These developments will serve as the backdrop for the upcoming annual Miami Law Class Action & Complex Litigation Forum at the University of Miami School of Law on January 31, 2025.

Now in its ninth year, the forum promises a valuable platform for attorneys seeking insights into contemporary issues related to multi-district class actions and complex litigation. This initiative has founding sponsors from prominent Miami law firms—Kozyak Tropin & Throckmorton, Podhurst Orseck, Harke Law LLP, and The Moskowitz Law Firm—and this year’s in-person event brings together influential figures from legal, political, and academic fields to provide guidance on navigating and understanding class actions.

Expert judges, practitioners, and academics from across the United States—leaders in mass torts, insurance, and consumer litigation—will participate in panel discussions throughout the day. Topics will include trends in antitrust and artificial intelligence class actions and an in-depth examination of class action trials. Additionally, a special panel will feature judges specializing in MDL and complex litigation.

The Friday, January 31, 2025, event, held at the University of Miami’s Shalala Student Center, 1330 Miller Drive, Coral Gables, Florida, 33146, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., is open to the public with registration. General admission is $645.00, $195.00 for public service attorneys. Admission fees waived for judges, law clerks, and current Miami Law faculty and students.
