Dayron Silverio’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, class actions, mass torts, and multi-district litigation. He has tried a dozen cases in state and federal courts, representing the government in criminal matters as well as civil plaintiffs and defendants.
Prior to joining the firm, Dayron was an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. During his tenure at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Dayron prosecuted and investigated hundreds of federal crimes, including murder and murder-for-hire, racketeering activities, international kidnappings, sex trafficking, child exploitation offenses, narcotics trafficking, fraud offenses, aggravated identity theft, interstate and international property crimes, and money laundering. He also successfully briefed several matters before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, managed investigative teams from various law enforcement agencies, and served as filter counsel in a multimillion-dollar fraud prosecution involving multiple defendants and entities. For his efforts, Dayron received the Office’s 2020 Karen Cross & Beranton Whisenant Award given annually to one prosecutor who shows exceptional legal acumen, work ethic, esprit de corps, and outstanding performance during the first four years of service.
Earlier in his career, Dayron served as an Assistant County Attorney for Miami-Dade County, where he represented the County and its employees in administrative, state, and federal civil proceedings.
Born in Cuba and raised in Miami, Dayron received his Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Chicago Law School, and graduated summa cum laude from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science. As an undergraduate, Dayron received accolades for his academic research and honors thesis on the Spanish Civil War. In law school, Dayron was a member of the University of Chicago’s Federal Criminal Justice Clinic, where he defended clients charged with federal criminal offenses.
Dayron previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Mark E. Walker of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida, and to the Honorable Adalberto J. Jordan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
